We aim to recruit the best people to help meet our business objectives and to develop those already with us to meet their full potential. Our training and development opportunities and performance management system help encourage the realisation of this potential.
At the same time, we are decisively addressing the historic inequalities created by the previous exclusion of blacks, females and people with disabilities from opportunities in employment, training, development and career advancement through our Employment Equity Plan.
HSBC runs a Graduate programme, for which we source talented graduates from local universities. The programme starts in January every year and continues for 18 months, aimed at providing the graduates with practical work experience in their chosen field. Graduate trainees are considered for all areas of our business, including Global Markets, Global Banking (including Corporate Finance), Trade and Supply Chain, Commercial Banking and Finance. For most of our graduate trainees, this programme provides them with an entry-level career opportunity to join HSBC.
Further information about careers at HSBC is available on our corporate website.
